Issac Newton’s contributions to science have been profoundly impactful. This insightful diagram delineates some of his most potent breakthroughs. At the top of the chart, we see his exploration of the properties of light. Newton’s prism experiments which led to the inception of the concept of the spectrum are indeed monumental. Further down, we encounter the universal law of gravitation. This gravitational law was able to magnificently explain why apples fall from trees and why the planets orbit the sun. Newton’s formulation of the three laws of motion is also highlighted as a significant advancement. These laws formed the crux of the principles of classical mechanics which are still used today to study the motion of objects in our universe. This chart wonderfully captures Newton’s pivotal role in our understanding of the natural world.
